It is exciting going on holiday, but it is also easy to overlook or forget a few important things prior to travelling that could ruin your vacation before it has even started.
Here is a basic checklist to help you out:
- Check that your passport is valid and not out of date!
- Check your credit/debit cards and make sure that they are not about to expire, and if you are planning to use them in Mallorca it may be wise to advise your bank of this before travelling. Banks often put a stop on credit cards when activity abroad is detected unexpectedly, especially if you have been a victim of fraud in the past.
- Think about how much money you are going to need while away and whether you want to get travelers cheques before travelling.
- Remember to pack any medication you will need and ensure they are packed in your carry on luggage.
- Make a list of things you will need with you. Forgetting your toothbrush or your sunglasses won´t be the end of the world, but why spend time and money shopping for them on holiday when you could have brought them with you.
- Be aware of your airlines baggage allowances. Weigh your luggage at home to avoid paying hefty fines at the airport.
- Pre-plan your transport from Palma airport to your hotel. Know your options before arriving so that you can decide beforehand which method of transport is best for you. It will save you time and may save you money.
